Part Time After School Program Counselor
(35) hours per week, Monday - Friday, 2-7 p.m.
Position Description
The Jubilee Center Counselor will lead, assist and participate with children enrolled in the Jubilee After School Program in a variety of educational, artistic and recreational activities conducted on and off site from the Jubilee Center under the direction of the Program Coordinator and will ensure that the children are engaged and safe at all times.
Responsibilities include:
The After School Counselor will interact with children under his/her supervision at all times, insuring that all of them are engaged in group or individual activities.
The Counselor will further be expected to have at least one supplemental activity, besides board/card games, prepared to implement with the children under his/her supervision at all times.
The Counselor will be fully aware of where the children are and what they are doing at all times.
Jubilee Center Standards
The Counselor will dress appropriately and will not use any personal electronic devices including cell phones and music players at any time while the children are in his/her care.
Hours
The Counselor will be on site when The Jubilee Center is open and children are present and will participate in special events staff trainings, meetings and evaluations as necessary.
The Jubilee Center After School Program hours are from 2:30 - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, however, counselors should report to work at 2:00 p.m. each day to prepare for their shift. The Counselor is expected to arrive in time each day to prepare for the daily activities and stay after the children leave to prepare for the next day.
Compensation
$10.00 per hour paid bi-weekly. No benefits included.
Terms
The employee agrees to comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the ASCSDC Employee Handbook, Childcare Facility Licensing Requirements and insurance guidelines and to honorably represent The Jubilee Center and its constituents. The ASCSDC may terminate employment at will.
